Our advisory servicesWe base our work on well proven and documented methodologies and tools that have been honed over time to solve the most common challenges organizations face. Customer-Centered Strategy: The best growth ideas are those that are based on a deep understanding of how customers value and see the market. Our Market Map approach to strategy development provides a simple framework to drive strategic decisions based on a customer perspective. Within a map of the market landscape that is framed by customer needs and customer segments, data including revenue and profit pool potential, customer preferences, competitive positions and strategic intent, and company capabilities are overlayed onto the map to create a multi-dimensional view of the opportunities. The Market Map approach to strategy development is unique in that the common tools of the Boston Matrix, Porter Five Forces, and SWOT do not frame the strategy from a customer perspective. The Market Maps have helped companies to quickly identify where there are adjacent and new growth opportunities, where “Blue Ocean” or untapped markets exist, and where they may be fighting a losing market battle. Transformation: Generating a clear strategy is just the first step. Too often, big ideas are never fully executed and the true market potential is never reached. Our solution to that challenge is the ACT (Accelerated Corporate Transformation) process. The ACT process was built on the best-practices that surfaced through an innovation program chaired by Robert H. Miles, one of our founding partners, at the Harvard Business School. Over 25 years, the process has been refined and streamlined through its use by leaders to accelerate performance gains in their organizations, including the transformation of GE to compete globally, IBM's shift into services, Symantec's move into enterprise solutions taking to beyond a billion dollars in revenue, and the turnarounds of National Semiconductor and Office Depot, to name a few.
